Want to learn how to inoculate logs and grow your own mushrooms at home? Adding mushroom logs is a great way to add a harvest to a shady area in any permaculture design and this time of year is ideal to inoculate mushrooms!  Cool, wet conditions of fall are ideal for mycelial growth, plus starting logs before winter extends incubation time and gives them the opportunity to fruit sooner.  The class will involve a discussion about all the stages of the process, the different tools and techniques that can be used, and the list of mushrooms that are well suited for this process.  The big fun begins with a hands on opportunity to inoculate your own log that you can then take home to harvest the following year!
