Everything About Garlic
Audience: Adults, Teens
Time: 3 hours
Level: Beginner & beyond
Fall is garlic planting time!
Come out to Bending Oak Permaculture farm and learn all about garlic (Allium sativum). Everything will be covered: from garlic’s ancient origin story to its uses as both food and medicine to planting, care, harvesting, and storage. The first half will be a presentation by the Snarky Gardener, blowing your mind with garlic and other Allium (onion) family facts, and the second half will get your hands dirty planting garlic at Bending Oak (so wear your gardening clothes). Plus you will receive a garlic bulb to take home and plant afterwards before winter sets in. As extra bonus, the first three people to sign up will receive a complementary signed copy of The Snarky Gardener’s Veggie Growing Guide
